DP's Summer Travel Picks : Mediterranean Edition

Because I can’t break the sound barrier over the internet via my excitement about being able to travel again this summer, I will just say this. I am very excited.

DP's Summer Travel Picks : Mediterranean Edition
Last year, I was lucky enough to be taken to Italy and Spain for work. This year, I feel extremely lucky to be boarding a yacht around the mediterranean.

This summer, I’m selecting the best of the best for the mediterranean heat, salt, and seabreeze that will keep me fresh, hydrated, and not sticky.

At the top of my list is this pH balancing hydrosol that joins all the best florals… rose, neroli, and lavender. They all work to hydrate, prep, and calm the skin, and are steam distilled for total extraction purity. But the real hot tip? Bring this on any weekender, or just a backyard pool hang with friends. Misting on friends’ faces out in the hot sun will guarantee gratitude and popularity. It’s my favorite party trick.

I don’t want to weigh my hair down with product, but I also don’t want it to dry out on the high seas. The Pure Collection by David Mallet is so crisp and clean and gentle, while also being very cleansing and hydrating. It’s perfect for tousled and carefree summer locks.

We can’t help but be obsessed with all the packaging for this brand, but it’s so much more than a pretty vintage face. This oil adds a little sun protection while also helping me reach that golden tan one can only get from vacation, as well as highlights my legs and body. I may not be stepping out in a speedo this summer, but anyone who wants to rock one can be my guest and borrow my chardonnay oil!

Corpus, I’ll never quit you. Not only is this the best natural deodorant out there (and I’ve tried a lot) but Third Rose is the best scent. It’s super light, fresh, a little floral, but ultimately unisexy. It’s a natural deodorant, so of course I still sweat, but it mingles well with body chemistry and the lovely scent remains true. It keeps things smelling fresh, but free to breathe. And that natural detox is vital.

Pride Month: Celebrating Your Most Absolute Self With The Founders of Hank Code

Now, Jeff Madelena and business partners Louis Terline and Ryan Fitzgibbon are the minds and hearts behind HANK Code, a sleek offshoot of the term “hanky code,” universalized by gay men in the 70’s. HANK Code is an online retailer, sure, but also an oasis in an otherwise dry landscape for queer makers and consumers alike.

David and Jeff Madalena’s relationship goes back to a small, yet powerful community in Williamsburg— but it’s deeper than that. They share a love of connection; one that helps others to define their unique identities through expressive nuance— scent, art, design, and values. There’s no one specific mold for each individual’s sexuality, and HANK acts as a conduit to help others define, refine, and articulate their complex singularity via many mediums.
